Sky Gets An Award

Today we went to an assembly at Sky's school where she received an award for improvement in reading. We are very proud of Sky since before she began 1st grade, she was a non-reader and now she is reading pretty well. In other news, she lost her 5th tooth a few days ago. She is definitely growing up!

Snow Day!

Every year our church does a fun event called "Snow Day". They truck in 15 tons of snow and create sled runs and snow play areas. It's the only snow that our kids know. It's always a super fun day!

Lila Sends Her Love

In the picture above you can see that her fourth bottom tooth finally came in.
Lila blowing kisses. These pictures should be reversed.

She's our sweetie pie, for sure. But she also has a very devious streak to her. Today while I was brushing my teeth, she climbed up onto the table and dumped my coffee (thankfully cold) all over herself, the table, etc. I guess it's a good thing that we have coffee colored carpeting in our dining room!

She can be so adorable and sweet one moment and then she's stirring the pot the next minute. She's got quite a peppy personality which we've been seeing more and more of lately.

Fun Times With Pepere and Memere

Pepere (my dad/French for grandpa) and Memere (his wife/French for grandma) came for a 1 week visit and we had so much fun with them. Above we are at Downtown Disney, a free shopping area outside Disneyland.
Of course there were some projects. Pepere fixed the fence since it was buckling in the center. Sky and Brad helped by carrying the wood.

We cut down our leaning palm tree. Ken is now the proud owner of a chain saw!

We ate dinner at Norm's restaurant (my dad's name is Norm). We also ate at Fuddrucker's, Molca Salsa, and we visited Saddleback Church.

This is the new build a car store in Downtown Disney. It's pretty cool.

We played a lot of dominoes and Sky was really enjoying that. She totally understands that game and strategizes and everything.

My dad and Jeanne love the tv show "Overhaulin'" which just so happens to be filmed here in Huntington Beach. I've never seen the show but I guess the premise is that they "steal" someone's car that needs to be overhauled and then they overhaul it in just 1 week. So, we went to the shop and took a tour and we even got to meet Chip Foose, the car designer. It was very interesting and Chip was a super nice guy.
