4th of July in Our Nation’s Capital
Our family was able to spend the Fourth of July in our nation’s capital. We watched the fireworks from the rooftop of the hotel we were staying at. They were beautiful.
We flew in to Washington DC on July 3 and spent the Fourth of July walking to various monuments. It had been about 30 years since Ken and I visited Washington DC while we were in high school.
The days were hot and humid and most of the hotel pools were closed due to Covid, but we enjoyed learning more about our nations history and seeing some of the important monuments.
There weren’t very many other people around so we practically had the place to ourselves. It felt good to be exploring and traveling again!
