Most of you, my faithful blog readers, already know these things about me but I recently wrote this for facebook and thought I'd share:
1. I was in a high school graduating class of 3.
2. I was born in Florida, grew up in Connecticut, lived 8 years in Chicago, 7 years in Cincinnati, and now live in Southern California.
3. My bad habits include sleeping with my makeup on, eating too fast, having bad posture, and chewing too much gum. I’m sure there’s more but that’s all I can think of now.
4. I love bargain shopping no matter the store and I LOVE hand me downs.
5. I’ve been married to my best friend Ken for almost 14 years. He’s such an awesome guy and I feel so blessed to share life together.
6. I can’t live without eyeliner, hair gel, ice cream, naps, and gum.
7. I once cut the roof of my mouth with a curtain rod (while pretending it was a microphone and singing into it). That ended my singing aspirations.
8. I don’t believe in ironing or high heels.
9. I asked Jesus to be my Savior at age 4 and have loved Him ever since.
10. I have read all of the Newberry winning books. My favorite is The Giver.
11. I love to travel with Ken. I would like to someday see the Grand Canyon, Israel and Egypt.
12. I can easily get caught up in a life of just having fun and I often have to remind myself to care for others. That’s sad but true.
13. I had huge crushes on Isaiah Thomas (Detroit Pistons) and Steve Tyler (Aerosmith) in high school. I’m over them now.
14. Ken and I had to wear youth bracelets on our honeymoon. We were both only 20 years old.
15. My grandmother is a genealogist and has found out that I am descended from all sorts of interesting people: William Bradford, Revolutionary and Civil War soldiers, a witch, and Aaron Burr, just to name a few.
16. Over the years I earned money with jobs as a housecleaner, teacher, furniture refinisher, pizza maker, ice cream scooper, babysitter, telemarketer, election poll worker, college dorm resident assistant, basketball coach, farm hand, birthday party host, college dining room worker and book reader. Nothing I did prepared me for the intense job as stay-at-home mom!
17. I dream of someday taking a whole summer to camp with my family at the California state parks.
18. I don’t drink coffee unless it tastes like ice cream.
19. I have had some great vacations to so many wonderful places: Niagara Falls, San Diego, Toronto, St. Louis, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, Washington DC, Quebec, the Adirondacks, Charleston, Lake Placid, Boston, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Wisconsin Dells, Tulsa, and Colorado, just to name a few.
20. I had lots of animals while growing up: at least 10 dogs, 10 chickens, loads of rabbits, fish, etc. The rabbits really did multiply and my dad made a stew out of a bunch of them once. I still need some therapy for that one…
21. I always get a perm because I have a natural wave in the back of my hair and I’m way too impatient and lazy to straighten my hair everyday.
22. I really should exercise more!
23. I’m not very good at keeping up with people. I really do miss my far away friends but time somehow gets away from me. If you’re reading this now, know that I miss you and care about you.
24. I have so much to be thankful for. I have 2 beautiful children with another one on the way.
25. If I could choose a new occupation, I think it would be paralegal. I really enjoy the courtroom (I actually like jury duty!) but I don’t have the brains to be a lawyer.

Loved reading this, Lor! Here Ive known you forever and a day, and I still learned things. You have such a great way of weaving your funny sense of humor into your story. Made me laugh over my coffee...that didnt taste like ice-cream (yum, a new flavor to try..lol). Rabbit stew... I remember you telling us about that the next time we played over and it made ME need therapy! lol Boy, I was scared of your dad after that! Besides the fact that he is soooo tall...tall AND bunny killer! lol Thanks for sharing. Alot of similarities between us. Always makes me laugh. Love you, dear friend!!!!!
