Homeschooling Fun!

I feel like we are now in full swing with homeschooling and it has actually been quite fun.  There is such a network of support for it out here!  So, we are enrolled with a charter school called Sky Mountain and they give us funds to buy curriculum and to broaden Sky's education ($1,600 per year).  So, right now, in addition to her Tues./Thurs. co-op (they don't pay for that), we have BIOLA PE classes every Friday.  The pictures above and below are from that class.  There are about 50 homeschooled kids who participate and so far the focus has largely been on coordination.
Sky is also taking an art class through the city every Wednesday.  Her art teacher is a BIOLA student and she is also a teacher for Sky in BIOLA PE.  So, Sky is enjoying getting to know Miss Kari!  Below are some sketches that Sky made in art class.
Sky is also taking a spelling class on Tuesdays and swimming lessons on Mon. and Wed.  Below is a picture from our studies on Constitution Day.  We have put up a timeline in our laundry room and we add the names of people or things that we're studying and the date(s) and we place them on our timeline.  So we learned about the Constitution and then Sky wrote a 1 sentence description on the back of the card and drew a picture of the Constitution on the front.
Above is another picture of Sky in her art class.  She really enjoys art and I am so thankful that she has time to do more of it.

So glad to see Sky having a great outlet for her artistic talent! We know she's got a great imagination to go with it. I'm sure she will be producing some very exciting art pieces! What a blessing Lori, that there's so much support for your homeschooling ... It looks like lots of fun going on out there! Love to you all .....

We are so happy that the home schooling is going so well, Lori! It's great that Sky now has the time to do lots of things she enjoys--things she wouldn't be able to do if she was still at Gardenhill. God is soo good! The pics and stories make us smile! Thanks for sharing!
