Yard Work

Even though we've owned a home (condo) before, we have never had the joy of doing our own yard work until now. For Father's Day Ken bought himself a lawn mower and hedge trimmer and he finally had the opportunity to use them yesterday. Brad got a plastic lawn mower for his birthday and loves pushing it around the yard just like daddy. What we didn't bargain for was his imitation of the hedge trimmer. He watched Ken for a while and then went and found his baseball bat and started beating the bushes. He got very upset when we tried to stop him from beating the bushes to death. It's probably not a good idea for Brad to have his own bat anyway...

Wow, hadn't really thought about the fact that all of the places you have lived, you never had to do yardwork before! Well, Ken looks totally comfortable with the hedge trimmer! Good job, Ken! That Buddy, always wanting to help!

I know you have owned a condo but you didn't have to care for the lawn or shrubs. Now you really know what it is like to own a house. Yes! The lawn has to be mowed and thebushes have to be trimmed. Bet you can't wait till Brad is old enough so you can tell him, "Mow the lawn." Then you can hane the trimmer to Sky and say, "Trim the bushes". At least you won't have to shovel snow in winter.
