The Santa Ana Zoo

I won 4 freepasses to the Santa Ana Zoo through a MOMS Club raffle. We went there on Sunday and had lots of fun. It's a very small zoo with a limited amount of animals but we still had some good times.

Brad is into bald eagles so it was a special day as he got to see a live one and ride one on the carousel.

A monkey on a lizard...

Ken was very excited that they had camel rides. Riding a camel was one of the things on his bucket list so he was in his glory with Kaleb the Camel. They said that the camel is only 1 foot shorter than their elephant. It was pretty tall! I was suprised that Sky rode it all alone.

We went to a live animal show and saw the opposum (above) and hedgehog (below) along with a tarantula and snake.

The girls enjoyed their ride on the carousel too. We also took a train ride around the zoo which was fun. We were only there for a few hours but we pretty much saw the whole place. Their claim to fame is the amount of monkeys that they have there.

Crazy California

A few nights ago, when the backyard motion detector went off, we saw this lovely spider web. Upon further inspection, Ken concluded that it was a brown widow web (the spider is in the middle). He sprayed it with his bug killing spray and it is no longer with us. Still creepy though.

The 4th of July is coming. How do we know? One of these fireworks booths is on just about every corner in our town. They open for business one week prior to the 4th. Let the fireworks begin!
You may have heard that we hosted a yard sale for some friends of ours who are trying to raise support to be missionaries in Guam. They are a great family with 2 kids and another on the way. He just graduated from Talbot with 2 masters degrees and she is finishing up hers. People have been donating items all during the month of June, plus they were selling all of their things since they're not bringing much with them. We had a LOT of stuff! They ended up making about $1,600 through the yard sale! This was what our backyard looked like on the night we were sorting through stuff. The pools weren't for sale but were there to keep the kids occupied.

Brad's Music Class

That's my boy! Brad is currently enrolled in a music and sign language class.

Brad and Mimi learning the songs and the sign language to go with the songs. I'm hoping that Lila will pick up some sign language by watching the class.

Sky's Graduation From Kindergarten

We took a picture of the kids on Sky's first day of school and I can't believe how much they have all grown since then. As you can see from this picture, the 1/2 hour ceremony wasn't enjoyed by Brad...
Sky is in the middle row in the center. This group of kids represents 3 of the 6 kindergarten classes. They sang a few cute songs (What a Wonderful World) and did a few sweet poems. I can't believe that Sky has finished kindergarten! I didn't get choked up on the first day of school but today I did. The teachers read a letter they had written together about how much they care about the students, etc. It was really nice!

Lila was perusing the program.

The class of 2022!

Sky receiving her diploma from principal, Mrs. Burkholder.

Our graduate.

Sky with her teacher, Mrs. White.

Sky with her friend Timi, son of my friend Christine. It was so great to have them in the same class this year because we could cover for each other if we needed to.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! I wish I could have spent the day with my dad too but we had a fun day at the Long Beach Harbor. It was a beautiful day and everyone had a fun time. Happy Father's Day to Ken, a wonderful husband and awesome dad.
Sky enjoyed dancing to the music.

We took a 1 hour boat trip around Long Beach Harbor.

Sky, Brad and Daddy got to ride the carousel.

Ken's mom treated for a Father's Day dinner at Boston's.

The kids played in a sandy area for a while and explored among the rocks too.

Sky LOVED the boat ride and got totally soaked by the waves.

Brad preferred an indoor view.

More Party Pictures

Here are some more pictures from the birthday bash. By my estimation of taken goody bags, there were over 40 kids here last night!
Brad LOVES this garbage truck.

The mermaid/pirate cake above. Brad sporting his parrot tattoo below.

Sweet girls!

Playing some party games.

I think Brad was a little scared of his balloons.

Timmy enjoying the cake.

The puppet show performers.

What is this baby doing??? Lila really likes this talking toucan.
