Counting our Blessings

We went to the BIOLA pool on Saturday and met a mom named Julie and her two year old little boy named Jayden. Jayden has some serious speech delays and he has undergone surgery for a cleft pallet. He and Brad seemed to be about the same size and at the same place developmentally. She takes him 3 times a week for 3 hour sessions of speech therapy about 45 minutes away. Their lives pretty revolve around caring for his needs and getting him help and support. It made me realize how much we have to be thankful for. Our lives revolve around having fun and helping others and that is such a nice place to be. Thank you, God!
Today we went to Michaels craft store and purchased yet another ceramic figurine ($.70) for Sky to paint and add to her growing collection. Sky seems to think that it's her right to get one every time we go to Michaels. Today was a lovely little sheep. Then we went to the BIOLA pool for more swimming and fun in the sun. Ken met us there and sat by the pool talking with us.
After dinner we all went to the BIOLA track and I walked with Brad in the stroller with another Talbot wife while Ken helped Sky fly her princess kite for the first time (it was a birthday present). It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed our time outside. Then we stopped at the Big Straw Cafe because they were giving away free ice cream and frozen yogurt. Yum! Can life get any better?
We found out today that my mom and her husband Bill will be coming out to visit us over Thanksgiving. We're excited about that!
We also found out that some good friends in Cincinnati, Scott and Sarah, had to put their dog down because he was filled with cancer. Sad! We had met the dog a few times and he was a really happy golden retriever. Rest in peace, Marley.

Hi, We sure do take things for granted and have so much to be thankful for! God gives the grace we need for each day...Getting a ceramic figurine each trip to M's reminds me of a Matchbox car each trip to Bradlees, (for the birvees)...It is always sad to lose a family pet...We, too, are excited about our Nov. visit and so glad we will beable to help you with the kids and everything while Ken is away...Don't have a clue who "&amp" is--perhaps our guardian angel?
