Ken's mom, known as "Mimi" to our kids, is here from Connecticut visiting with us for about 5 days. We've been having lots of fun together! Yesterday we walked all around BIOLA's campus and then stopped at a yard sale. Sky found lots of things she "needed" and I found some great clothes for myself. We walked there with Sky in the wagon and Sky had to walk on the way home because we filled the wagon with purchases from the garage sale. All of this fun for only $7. It was great!
Then Sky and I went to her friend Charlyze's birthday party. They had a two story inflatable water slide but Sky was not interested. It was pretty scary but the kids seemed to be having fun on it. Sky (reluctantly) gave Charlyze a Lite Brite for her birthday.
After that we went to church and then Sky, Ken, and Mimi went to Downtown Disney, a shopping district near the park (I took Brad home so he didn't miss his bedtime). They had Haagan Daz ice cream, window shopped, caught the fireworks, and listened to all the music vendors. They had a blast and didn't get home until about 10:30pm. Sky was pretty beat. We're still saving our money for an annual Disneyland pass. We're only about $70 away.
Today we went to Balboa Island/Newport Beach. We really had a great time! We rented a surry, a bike that seats 4 adults and 2 children. We pedaled around for almost 2 hours and then we spent some time on the beach. We got some good excercise and some good sun as well. We enjoyed chocolate covered strawberries and banana. Delicious! Balboa Island is such a fun place, a lot like Block Island, RI, for those of you who live in CT. It's only $2,500 to rent a house by the beach for a week. So, we figure if we round up 25 friends, it will only cost us $100 a person. Who's in?

Yes, we've been having so much fun. Newport Beach is beautiful! Brad is so big and Sky is just as cute as ever! I hope this blog comment works. Blogging is new to me and I wasn't able to get it to work for me before. Lori, I really enjoy reading your entries. They're very entertaining! - Love, Mimi
